Janvier est certainement le mois le plus ennuyeux de l’année. Froid et humide, mais surtout propice à toutes sortes de saugrenus sévices alimentaires auto-infligés, des cures détox au condescendant «dry-january». Ce n’est pas non plus un hasard si le lundi le plus déprimant de l’année, le redoutable blue monday, a lieu durant le premier mois de l’année.
Mieux manger, soit. Dans ce camaïeu de gris des articles-conseil, une tendance mérite toutefois le détour: celle du retour de la fermentation. Retour, parce que comme souvent, les hipsters culinaires n’ont rien inventé. Le processus a été mis en œuvre dans pratiquement toutes les cultures, du Japon jusque chez les Inuits. Rien de surprenant à trouver de la fermentation partout. La choucroute? Du chou fermenté. Le kimchi coréen? Pareil. Les yaourts? Fermentés aussi. Les fromages? Le beurre? Le saucisson? Le kombucha? Le miso? La sauce soja, et j’en passe? Fer-men-tés!

Source text - English The CORAL trial is one of the largest trials ever done in cancer pain patients by any pharmaceutical company. Why is a cancer pain trial so important for a new analgesic like Cebranopadol?
For the approval of a new medicine for severe chronic pain, results from a cancer pain study are considered essential, in an increasing number of countries.
What is the CORAL trial?
In the CORAL trial, patients suffering from severe chronic pain related to cancer are treated with Cebranopadol (an investigational medicine) or with morphine. In many countries, morphine is considered as the standard therapy for the treatment of patients with cancer pain and has numerous limitations for patients on for example efficacy and side effects. Therefore, the CORAL trial will determine which additional benefits Cebranopadol can provide to patients suffering from severe chronic pain related to cancer, compared to morphine.
What is Cebranopadol?
Cebranopadol is an investigational medication that was discovered by scientists at XX. It is now being tested internationally for the treatment of different pain conditions by XX and its development partner YY Inc., a pharmaceutical company based in the United States. It is currently in clinical development and is not yet approved or registered in any country.
Cebranopadol is a novel, highly potent analgesic working as a NOP and opioid receptor agonist. Analgesics currently available such as oxycodone, morphine, and fentanyl act only on the opioid receptors. Based on preclinical studies, Cebranopadol has strong and broad analgesic activity in a variety of animal models of acute, inflammatory, visceral, neuropathic, and cancer pain and induces fewer side effects than pure mu-opioids.
Cebranopadol is the latest development from our R&D pipeline and a promising molecule with a unique mechanism of action, of which many pain patients with different pain indications may benefit in the future.
