Bio

Dear visitor, welcome to my profile page!

I am a Germany-based freelance translator working in French, English and German, specializing in the following fields:

business and management, legal translations, marketing, public relations, press, HR, corporate communications, pharmaceuticals, medicine, tourism and sports.

Daughter of a German mother and an American father who returned to the States after having completed his military mission in Germany, I grew up in Southern Bavaria. As languages have always been my passion, I decided to study translation and linguistics at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich (the former Sprachen- und Dolmetscher-Institut, SDI). During a one-year stay abroad close to the Atlantic coast, I learnt to appreciate the French savoir-vivre. In 1986, I graduated from university as a state-certified translator.

Today, I have more than 20 years of translation experience. Before starting my freelance career as a professional linguist, I worked as an employee for different globally operating companies in an intercultural environment. Due to my professional background, I gained deep and comprehensive knowledge in sales and marketing, management and organizational structures, M&A, legal matters, human resources, communications and media. Over the last 10 to 15 years, I have focussed on the translation of print articles for magazines throughout all industries, which has become one of my favorite fields.

With regard to professional training, I completed courses in creative writing and translation as well as research techniques. I have a quick grasp of things and always know to help myself.

Besides that, I have a good understanding of both the English and French culture, work with meticulous attention to detail and always respect deadlines. Of course, all your documents will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.

I am an accredited member of the Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators in Germany (Bundesverband der Dolmetscher und Übersetzer, BDÜ). Moreover, I am authorized by the Regional Court of Munich I to certify my translations from and into the French language which will then be accepted by authorities and courts throughout Germany and abroad.
