I started my career as a translator at the European Parliament in Luxembourg in 1995 when Finland joined the European Union. I worked as an official at the European Parliament for three years.
After than, I have worked as a freelance translator for dozen of clients if not hundreds of clients for the past 18 years. Among my most prestigious clients has been the European Court of Justice, for which I translated opinions written in Dutch (by Advocate-General Geelhoed) into Finnish. They were ultimately published in Reports of Cases before the Court of Justice and the Court of First Instance.
I have also translated hundreds of pages for the Federal Government of Canada, mainly legal and medical texts.
Apart from working as a translator, I have worked as an interpretater for law offices in Montreal. I have done subtitling, voiceover, and other tasks that have to do with language. That also explains why my name appears in the end credits of the video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for Wii.
I got my PhD from McGill University in Law (actually called Doctor of Civil Law) in 2012.
