Source text - English Metro Lost & Found At Your Service
It happens to everybody at some point, and Metro Lost & Found is ready to help you locate your lost valuables. However, there are some ways you can help us quickly recover your items.
The following Question & Answer section explains Metro’s Lost & Found process and the information we need to track down your articles.
Q: Can I be reimbursed for a lost item or pass?
A: METRO is not responsible for items left on the vehicle and is unable to consider reimbursement for items not turned in to METRO personnel. Lost
Passes may be replaced through Metro’s Treasury Department with a serial number and completion of the Affidavit of Ownership form. For fare items lost for a second time or more, there is a $15 per card replacement charge.
Q: When can I get my article back?
A: Recovered articles must be transferred from each vehicle and follow a specific process until received by Metro’s Lost & Found (typically one day after the loss). However, it may take several days before an item is received. Please note that not all lost items are recovered.
Passes lost in the fare box typically take three to five workdays to be received by Lost & Found. Requesting and completing a Lost Pass Claim Form from the vehicle operator at the time of loss will aid in pass recovery.
For urgent or high dollar items such as medications or laptop computers, the Lost & Found staff will attempt to locate the items, so that they may be quickly secured. Your patience is appreciated as this process does take time.
