Sabemos muy poco de los iberos, los primeros habitantes de lo que hoy es Espana, que llegaron hacia el ano 1000 a.C. De ellos viene el nombre de la Peninsula Iberica. Siglos mas tarde, unos 500 anos a.C. llegaron por el norte los celtas, un pueblo que sabia trabajar el hierro. La union de ambos produjo un nuevo pueblo: los celtiberos.

Wir wissen bisher nur wenig über die Iberer, die ersten Bewohner Spaniens, die sich etwa um das Jahr 1.000 v. Chr. im Süden ansiedelten. Ihnen haben wir den Namen der Iberischen Halbinsel zu verdanken. Mehrere Jahrhunderte später, also etwa um 500 v. Chr., stießen, von Norden kommend, die Kelten dazu, die damals schon Eisen zu bearbeiten wussten. Die Verbindung beider Völker führte zu einem neuen Stamm, den Keltiberern.
