Education and qualifications: Certified/sworn translator for Icelandic-English/English-Icelandic (2004); MA in Applied Linguistics (with Distinction) from the University of Sussex (2001); BA in English (1997)

Professional experience: Professional translator since 1998; freelancer since 2007; in-house translator at one of Iceland's big-three banks (2005-2007); in-house translator and quality assurance manager at a translation agency (2002-2005); full-time translator under the tutelage of a certified translator (1999-2000); and freelancer (1998-1999)

Páll is also one of three examiners for the Icelandic-English/English-Icelandic qualifying examinations for certified translators in Iceland.
