Katharina
Ay grew up near the French border, and graduated from a Franco-German high school. A native German-speaker, she also speaks fluent English, French,
Dutch and Spanish.

After extended stays in Canada, Tenerife, New York, Cologne,
Berlin and Amsterdam, life led her back to her hometown of Freiburg.

She worked in the media industry both during and after her
master's degree in humanities. Her further education includes courses in the
field of marketing, media work, law and events, as well as an apprenticeship as
a music agent.

The idea to offer foreign language services to
internationally-operating companies was borne from her activities in the media
industry, where she was responsible for foreign communication. In 2006, she
founded the translation agency Legato Services.
