Sworn translator and interpreter in the English and Bosnian / Serbian / Croatian languages
My translation journey started back in 1998, in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I worked as an in-house translator at two language schools where I learned my craft and then passed the exam for sworn translating and interpreting accreditation in 2006. After that I ran my own translation business as a sworn translator and enjoyed the independence of having my own office. I was located near a municipal court so I worked mainly with legal texts, court documents, sworn witness statements and lawyers.
In 2010, I moved to Australia and passed the professional exam there which earned me an accreditation by the Australian National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) in 2011. My accreditation number is CPN6NJ47L and it can be verified on NAATI's home page: https://www.naati.com.au/. I have an Australian Business Number (ABN) as well and I am registered as a sole trader in Australia.
While I was living in Melbourne I completed my studies for a Master's Degree in Editing, Publishing and Communications at the University of Melbourne. I worked on proofreading, editing manuscripts, layout, design and general preparation of written material for publishing. This degree aided my establishment as a translator-checker, in which role I proofread, edit and suggest changes as part of the quality check procedure with larger translation agencies.
Below you can find the summary of my qualifications and the list of biggest clients I have worked with.
