From Oct 10th 2011, working as an in-house translator for manufacturing 3 days/w and a freelancer 2 days+/w.

I am an MA-qualified native Japanese translator, working primarily from English to Japanese. I have translated a wide range of business, manufacturing and commerce related documents, presentations, correspondences, etc, including language education and linguistics since 2006 as a full time translator with some precious experiences of an in-house translator at Toyota in Wales to support their innovative project from Feb to June 2007, and at Games Workshop from July 2010 to July 2011 to launch their global website.

Over the past years, I have been handling a steady stream of documents, covering the range of subjects such as; manufacturing site working standard, manufacturing site safety training , tool/machine user manual, press release for stockholders, business letters for internal and external readers, online dictionary projects, development education learning material projects, HR training questionnaire, business contract, chemical product news, tourism, UK university guides, English learning software user’s manual, product promotion guide, film guide, commercial website, etc.

I attended UK Conference 2008, The Translator as Strategic Partner on Nov 22&23, 2008 in London.


Daily translation capacity is around 1200 words and more.
During working days when I work at my home office, MSN or skype contact is available while working.

From 1991 to 2004, for 15 years, I had been working as a civil servant in Japan, mainly teaching, and developing language learning materials, with doing translation as a part of my work. I have a good understanding and some knowledge on secondary school enhanced through my participation in charity, development education and English teaching education as working as a workshop staff.

Since Sep 2006, I have lived in the UK with my family. To take advantage of living in the UK, we enjoy motorcycling together when weather permitting. I found this a sort of integrated experience to understand English modern & historical cultures, peoples and the motor-sports, etc.

My interest: international business cultures, travelling, pedagogy, art & craft, language education, reading good Japanese novels, Japanese drumming, etc.
