A fluent French speaker for 25 years, I have been translating French and German professionally since 2005. Since 2006 I have been working 30 hours per week as a retained (contracted) proofreader of translations from German and French into English for a leading German translations company. This work allows me to also work freelance as it is part-time.

I am also a writer; along with French and German Language, my BA degree includes a module on Creative Writing in English, which includes fiction, non-fiction, life-writing, biography, and poetry. I also have a University Degree Level Diploma in French, and I passed two parts of the IOL Dip Trans, one of these was passed with Merit.

I have a broad range of skills from a wide career portfolio, which informs and enhances my business vocabulary. I have worked in marketing, electronics design (integrated circuits), webpage design (HTML and JAVA), sales administration, as a bilingual PA at executive level, as a teacher of French to children and adults, and a qualified teacher of health related fitness. I also teach French in adult education in the UK.
