I was born in 1977, my native language is Slovenian.

I finished my M.Sc. studies in electronics (2005) and a B.Sc. in electrical engineering (2002), both with excellent grades.

I also have a Certificate of Proficiency in English, grade A (University of Cambridge).

As long as I can remember, I was really passionate about technology. This has helped me to build a comprehensive technical background, mostly in electrical engineering, but also physics and related disciplines.

My second passion was for languages and I'm fluent in both English and German. I enjoy writing texts that are fluent and concise.

My freelance translator career started as a student part-time job in 1998. I was translating user manuals for a well-known mobile phone manufacturer, working through the excellent Amidas translation agency. In year 2005, I started to translate full-time and grounded my own company, which is now my sole source of income.

My deep technical background (M.Sc. in electronics) enables me to take on even the most difficult of technical projects with confidence. I have experience with and knowledge about a lot of modern technology, but primarily electronics, automation, (green) power, automotive (+ EVs), heavy machinery etc. A M.Sc. in Electronics and my maker  background both guarantee I know what I'm writing about. I am at my best translating documentation for complex high-tech systems where different technologies overlap.

My philosophy is simple: I provide quality translations in a dependable and optimized way. Translation quality is first and foremost, but I also never miss a deadline and try to optimise our communication with you in a way that wastes as little of your time as humanly possible. Translation industry is just that: an industry, and handling unnecessary e-mails takes time that you could profitably use to handle more projects.

Years of active experience in the industry give me a good overview of your needs, both from technology and from standardisation standpoints. I am technologically well-equipped and continuously update my CAT software and QA tools. My services are structured in a way that makes it simpler for you to achieve standards compliance, always transparent and with well-documented workflow steps. I also use a well thought-out two-tiered system of backups with heavily encrypted offsite storage, keeping your data safe and confidential.

With over 20 years of translation experience I can also serve as a competent translation workflow and technology consultant.
