I see that, although few, some translators seem to work without a deadline!
Lucky you!!
Sorry I can't comment further, I have a couple of deadlines to meet! | | | Andres Larsen Venezuela Local time: 05:25 Spanish to English + ... I deliver a day early for customers in Europe | Dec 2, 2008 |
Due to our time zone difference between South America and Europe, I deliver a day early for customers in Europe. My turnaround time for customers in the Western Hemisphere is in real time. | | | Rebecca Garber Local time: 04:25 Member (2005) German to English + ... Like andres-larsen | Dec 2, 2008 |
I send translations to European clients the night before, which I considered to be "on time" as opposed to early. I don't feel like getting up at 3 am to send something "on time" that I finished at 10 or 11 pm anyway. | |

it also depends | Dec 2, 2008 |
generally i try to have it done a bit early. For customers in europe, who want it the next morning, it's the night before. But if it's a big project and I have to go over it several times...i'm grateful for every second!!!! | | | Depends a lot on the job! | Dec 3, 2008 |
I tend to deliver within half an hour of deadline!
Most of my clients are in the same time zone or one hour behind my zone.
But I often get small jobs in the morning for delivery in the afternoon, or absolutely ASAP.
It means I have to be good at saying NO, sorry, at top speed when I am already running behind schedule, and it means quite a lot of stress some days. I live in South America. Most of my clients are European, which means they open their offices when it is around 4 or 5 am here. So it is not strange to find me working till late in the night, in order to deliver one to three hours before the deadline.
