Directions, but easy about the choice of venue anyway Jul 20, 2006

Hi Alina

Ok. You come out of Camdem Tube station and you take the market street and walk on its right hand side towards Camdem Lock. You walk and walk, and you find yourself on top of the little bridge, crossing the cannal. You continue straight ahead and will see a big Illy sign soon after. That is all the info I can remember.

Cafe Jul 20, 2006

I also agree that it would be nice to meet at a cafe. Marta's option sounds nice if we can find it (small and quite).

If the worst comes to the worst we still have the mobile number to ask for help.
I am sorry I cannot contribute too much, I don't know the area at all.
Would there be a way to find out Marta's cafe's name? Maybe googling "cafe" and name of the street or something like that?

Hi

This café has to be in "Camden Hight Street" or in "Chalk Farm Road". At the end of the first or at the begining of the second.

Anyway, as I said, I do not really mind.

Alina, another thing, do we all bring our own stuff for the picnic or are we clubbing together to buy snacks? I'm saying this, because I think you ended up paying too much last time, not sure.

Tomorrow Jul 21, 2006

OK, I'll try and find you guys following Marta's instructions but if you happen to see someone looking lost going up and down Camden High Street, please give her a wave in case it's me
I'll be wearing black (I think) and I'll try and bring some home-made picnic stuff, blankets and something to drink.

Look forward to meeting you all tomorrow, 2pm, in that mysterious café if I can find it...

Meeting place - alert Jul 21, 2006

I'm sorry not to have got back to people, having been responsible for blowing out Starbucks. I havn't got to Camden Town in the meantime. However, I looked up the Yellow Pages cafe locator and I think that Marta means the Jasmine Cafe. If so, their phone number is discontinued and they might have gone! There is a cafe in Parkway that is big and likely to have plenty of room for us: La Cigale
47, Parkway, London, NW1 7PN
Tel: 020 7267 7111. I checked that they will, if necessary

Great idea as... Jul 21, 2006

it is becoming increasingly late! I have Constance waiting for the final information, which she is forwarding to a colleague who came all the way from Rome(!) and she does not have access in her work, so I am sending her the updates...
Shall we make this cafe the meeting point then?
Alina - 'organizing manager' - what do you think?

La Cigale Jul 21, 2006

Just a quick note to say that La Cigale cafe suggested by Barbara is very easy to find from Camden Tube: just walk up Parkway (next to Barclays Bank), the cafe is on the left hand side of the street amongst various pubs & restaurants. I've never been there, but Parkway should be a little more quiet than Camden Lock, although then again, Camden is always very busy these days! From then, it's only a 10 minute walk to Regent's Park. So I would go with that too.

pls agree soon Jul 21, 2006

Hi girls,

It is not really me who has to decide, but Alina. I was just putting a bit of pressure because I might not be able to see the message should you decide at the last moment, as, I don't live in London and I might be on the train when you decide. Please, let's all agree in something quicklyyyy!

I would be surprised if the café I suggested is discontinued because I was there two weeks ago. Anyway, La Cigale sounds

I'll bring my sandwiches too.

See you there, if plans are not change?

Alina, I might have to call you tomorrow on your mobile if that is ok, if I don't see you guys there.

La Cigale Jul 21, 2006

Sorry for not getting in touch earlier. I was away all day (will explain tomorow).

In any case, we're meeting at the la Cigale - which seems to be the easiest to find.

I'll be bringing the famous throw. If people fancy bringing some food, that's fine. personally, I'll be visiting the nearby Morrisons

See you tomorrow at 2 at the La Cigale, then. I'll be wearing a red polkadot hairband, for tho

I think I walked past the cafe you meant Marta, it does indeed look very nice and for future reference, it's called 'Inhabitation' (and like you said, they do Illy coffee). There's a picture of it at:

Really nice to seeing you all again Jul 22, 2006

Hi girls,

Just a quick note to thank you all for the nice afternoon, and, of course, specially to our organiser, the lovely Alina. It has been lovely to see you all. I had a wonderful time and a wonderful experience "discovering" Camden Market (as you all know "my first time").

I am looking forward to seeing you all again very soon... so Alina, you know we are waiting for you to come back, however have a lovely holiday time.
