Nikita,
How (and why) this logo and "Gildija" itself relates to our event?

Ok, not too far from Pylimo g. and lots of buses if we are not too late. Also not too far from an English used book shop (further down the street at least a year or two ago) and the high crime train station. What time are we meeting? I would suggest an earlier hour so that the buses are still running and fewer cutpurses will be about when we finish. I take it all refreshments will be for sale, not brought by the participants. Are we wearing any special 'badges'? Do Lithuanian translators even have an official or unofficial badge? I see scouting has a nice badge. I don't care for the ProZ, Balkan tourist, or guide badges. If we have to design our own, it should be three coloured since so many countries use three colours in their flags and be a symbol rather than a word so that it is international.
Hi Arturas,
Regarding transportation (public) - there is a timetable on www.stops.lt. And taxi can cost max some 15-20 Litas, so shared between 3 persons, it would be 5-7 Litas. With criminal situation - cameras are now everywhere and this is a safe place (not like it was some years ago) as long as one uses some usual common sense. Drinks and meals will have to be purchased in the pub.

How does Lithuanian Translators Guild's logo relate to our event? Marius, it doesn't directly relate to the event. It relates to Arturas' question:

But why all this fuss? Do you and/or Diana have any problems with the Guild?

What I wanted to say there and then was that Lithuanian translators in general ≠ the Lithuanian Translators' Guild, no matter how good it sounds to an uninformed ear. But I am sure we can discuss it at our gathering

Tomorrow or Tuesday I hope to go to see the pub (just to be double-check if all is OK). And as I see, some technical issues still need to be discussed and solved: 5. If someone can accomodate any guests, please let me know (sorry, but I cannot myself).
I guess I can accomodate 1 guest but I am not 100% sure yet.

Nikita,
Does that Guild still exist? I goodled for the "traces" of it, and only found several different addresses of "legal person registration" (wonder why different for the same legal person), but no website, nor any detailed information, nor anything else.
As far as I know (at least based on what Arturas told me), he was one of the co-founders of it long time ago (10 years or so). But later something happened with that Guldija, and then soon nothing started to happen wi... See more Nikita,

And who is the "formal owner" of it? I mean "the formal registrant"? And do you think that there can be any sense to awaken that sleeping beauty?

I have no idea, Marius, as it's not that important for me.

Those who want to verify their identity and become 'verified members' will be able to do that during our meeting. I can verify identity for both Proz and TranslatorsCafe. Please don't forget that in order to be verified you should present your identity document having a photograph.
See you all!
