Description | The beginning of University of Mosul dates back to the year 1959, the year in which the college of Medicine started its first academic year. The actual appearance of Mosul University as an educational institute based on the ground backs to 1967, the day in which the order No.14 was issued by the government for establishing the Iraqi University (University of Mosul ). The University of Mosul has expanded over the years, it includes twenty colleges , (7) research centers , (6) consulting institutions , five clinics and hospitals, six museums , a number of directorates, and substantive and administrative units, The University of Mosul achieved the goals of higher education in Iraq by the preparation of national staffs qualified scientifically in a hundred scientific discipline and support scientific research and community service .. At the level of preparation of cadres of Mosul University awarded bachelor's degrees and Higher Diploma and Professional Diploma, Masters and Ph.D. in scientific discipline hundred distributors in the interdisciplinary fields of various departments at the university .. It also follows university graduates yet employed in government departments through the successive sessions of the continuing education program, which aims at re-graduates and updating information by teaching them according to the latest scientific methods. |

[Info] The translation Branch was established in 1976 as a part of the European Languages Dept. in 1987; it became an independent department. The administrative staff includes the head of department, the secretary, and the lecturers. The teaching staff includes 55 lecturers: one (Professor), thirteen Assistant professors, thirteen lecturers, and twenty eight assistant lecturers. The department awards B.A. lecturers in translation (for both Morning and evening studies), and M.A. degree in linguistics and Translation. |
