You are not supposed to get 30 points in first try
Mar 12, 2009
if you are a beginner.
Still, taking the placement exam is a good option to see, what expects you when you go fo the certification exam.
The exam isn't trivial at all. You have just 40 minutes time for 40 questions (4 times 10 questions, 10 minutes each block). So you either know the answer or ar able to find it quickly in the software or you ought to move on to the next question in order not to lose to much time.

Ok, what about the certification exam itself?
Mar 12, 2009
Ok, thanks. That clairifies it a bit more. Does that mean that, once you feel you are ready for (and that your score on the placement exam was satisfactory), you have to subscribe and pay again for the "real thing", that is the certification itself?
Regards
Jan

The placement exam is for free
Mar 12, 2009
so you do not lose anything when taking it.
I'm not sure, but AFAIR you can take the placement exam as often you want.
Regarding the cost of further steps please ask SDLm, I'm not informed well enough to asnwer the question.
