I will soon be embarking on ongoing editing and translation work of a book. This work is likely to last at least six months.

Does anyone here know of a "boilerplate" contract that might serve me as a starting point to cover such a working agreement (and that I of course would modify to fit my particular circumstances).

Many thanks in advance!

ATA Model contract May 9, 2006

Here's the American Translators Association model contract.

I've used, and it has proven very helpful as I have to sue the company that hired me for non-payment. But I have a contract signed! HA!

I hope this is helpful.

With that volume, surely an attorney isn't too expensive?

Good luck

You may refer to the ALTA (American Literary Translators Association) website at the following address. They do have something you may be able to use.
