What do you think about the new homepage of Proz?
In Portuguese, they don’t even give you the option to choose between PT-PT and PT-BR; it defaults to PT-BR, even if you are in Portugal. And most of the "content" is still in English.
And what about the quality? Some parts sound like machine translation with a poor human revision.
When you try to upgrade your account, you’ll find terms like "profissionais freelances." Freelances???

How is it possible that the biggest platform for translation jobs shows such a lack of respect for translators?
Why contribute to destroying this industry? If translation quality declines, Proz will also decline—never forget that!
PS: Ask Chatgpt about profissionais freelances:
The answer:
"No, the term "profissionais freelances" is not considered correct in Portuguese. The adjective "freelance" is not fully integrated into the language and is often used as a borrowing, but even so, its application is more restricted to expressions like "trabalho freelance" (freelance work) or "freelancer."
For a more appropriate phrasing in Portuguese, the correct terms would be:
"Profissionais autônomos" (autonomous professionals)
"Trabalhadores independentes" (independent workers)
"Freelancers" (if you prefer to keep the borrowing)
The phrase could be reworded to avoid the incorrect usage. For example:
"profissionais autônomos" or simply "freelancers" would work better."

Same for German - but another new site in the making

The German version is also poorly and in part incorrectly translated (https://deu.proz.com/?set_site_lang=deu).
I just hope that the very new version of the site that ProZ is working on will be of better quality in every respect.
