Already there Jun 22, 2024

When I open the Wikipedia homepage (https://www.wikipedia.org ), the cursor is already in the search field. Tab in case works to get there, also on article pages.
(Safari on a Mac)

There you can just click Tab, but I think you want the focus automatically there when opening the page. Would that imply less effort than clicking the Tab key?

That depends on the language version. E.g. in Dutch, there are two Tabs required.

Vimium Jun 22, 2024

I use the Vimium browser extension (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, sadly no Safari), and then the shortcut for this is "gi" (press g then i on your keyboard). This does this: Focus the first text input on the page.
