Hi:

I am new to proz.com and I recently changed my job notification settings. Now, when I look at the job RSS feed, most of the jobs I view read "You have been sent a notification of this job" at the beginning, but I can't figure out where these notifications have been sent, because I have not received any of them.

Thanks for your help!
Claudia Reynaud

Check your job setting Jan 11, 2011

They are sent to the email add that connects to your ProZ account.

I checked my settings but I'm still not receiving notifications Jan 11, 2011

Dear Catherine:

Thanks for your response. And yes, that's what I thought, but I checked my settings, and even though my e-mail address is correct, I am not receiving any notifications. Is there maybe something else I need to do?

Thanks for your help!

Kind regards,
Claudia Reynaud

E-mail service provider Jan 11, 2011

Hi Claudia,
I had a similar problem not so long ago and wrote a support ticket.

What the site staff suggested was that I change the e-mail address for receiving the notifications (jobs, new posts in threads etc.).

Although I was reluctant to do it, I finally created an alias for my personal (paid) e-mail address. It worked and I again received the ProZ.com notifications on a regular basis.

Hi Claudia,
I had a similar problem not so long ago and wrote a support ticket.

What the site staff suggested was that I change the e-mail address for receiving the notifications (jobs, new posts in threads etc.).

Although I was reluctant to do it, I finally created an alias for my personal (paid) e-mail address. It worked and I again received the ProZ.com notifications on a regular basis.

A known e-mail service provider (whose name starts with Y) has recently changed its policies and seems to block e-mails such as those sent by ProZ.com arbitrarily - this means that the messages will never reach neither your inbox, nor your spam folder.

Edited for typo and to add: this filtering from the above mentioned service provider even takes place when you have paid for the service - I have subscribed to a so-called "business plan" with them. You cannot influence it, except if they "reconstruct" your mailbox to accept e-mails from given senders (which btw doesn't seem to work properly either).

I'm sure that's the problem, then... Jan 11, 2011

Thank you so much for your response, Laurent. Indeed, my e-mail address is from the service provider that starts with a Y... And it's the one I use on a regular basis, because my paid e-mail address is even worse. I guess I'll have to set up yet another e-mail account

Thanks again and happy new year!

Kind regards,
Claudia
