Background /3rd party spell checker

I would like to source a standalone spell checker that could check as I type (possibly by beeping on an error). Amongst other things this would be useful when working in apps with rather clunky spell checkers (e.g. tageditor...)
I remember having such a thing years ago when using a Mac but can't seem to find one for the PC, maybe I've not got the right term to use in google.

Unfortunately you can't create your own dictionaries (though you can add words to the supplementary dictionary of your language). The paid version gives spelling tips, the free version only tells you which word you misspelt, while you type.

This seems to be a Tinyspell clone but it works better, IMO. You can create your own dictionaries and you don't have to use the built-in dictionaries. USD 40.00 thereabouts.

great stuff, got the free version of tinyspell that is beeping at me even as I type this.....
