Hi everyone,
Firstly, apologies if this is in the wrong forum - I was unsure where subtitling would fit in.
I recently purchased a licence for the closed/teletext variant of swift v.6. I am having no problems at all opening .avi or .wmv video files to create a subtitle file in windows media player video protocol, but when I attempt to open .mpg file which need softel nl video protocol, it won't allow me.
I've checked the videos with the video importer and the audio and shot change streams are fine. The videos show in the box, so the server is added correctly, but the "ok" button does not light up.
I've checked with one of the professional companies I work for who use swift and their preferences all match mine.
The only difference I can see within the open video box is that the "codec" tab is filled in with the other video types, but not with the .mpg The agency I asked where unable to tell if this was the problem as they have an older version than mine so they don't see that codec tab at all.
Does anybody know if the codecs are causing the problem and if so what codec I need to download to ensure it works? If it isn't the problem, any ideas what is?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
