locus sigilli > place of the seal
This question rang Latin bells and the wafer stickers at the end of my own UK legal apprenticeship contract (Articles of Clerkship / Pupillage) of yesteryear, as duly signed, sealed and delivered in the City of London.
Example sentence:
TAXE MUNICIPALE MAIRIE DE COTONOU 200 F (LS)
IATE: la locus sigilli Consilium l.s. Consilium

: I doubt it. I found another stamp with 'CF' instead of 'LS'.

CF isn't the question asked, but perhaps you can answer your own one instead of pouring cold water on mine..

: I think this is unlikely too. I don't see why West African officials would use Latin.

They do and, if applicable, take a look at your own Articles of Accountancy vs. Law Clerkship sign-off.

Thanks, Chris. The LS wafers on my own Law Clerk's Indenture / Pupillage Contract - next to my Principal's / 'Pupil-Mistress-cum-Master's' sign-off and mine as well as no doubt my West African Bar students - have literally stuck for almost half a century.

: This rang bells for me too. Unfortunately they were alarm bells.

Comment: "Yes, that makes perfect sense in this context and I speak German, too, so your reference is understandable"
