Is there a special term for that one?

Discussion

Noha Kamal, PhD. (asker) Jan 18, 2007:
إذا أرادت الأم رفع دعوى قضائية ، عليها أن تتوجه إلى النمحكمة المختصة وتحرير عريضة افتتاحية تقدم أمام قسم الأأحوال الشخصية.

Please, note taht I have been using the term "order on application" to refer to أمر على عريضة. Thank you for your help.

In the UAE, they use لائحة الدعوى in Arabic, which is usually translated as suit statement.

Yes, Noha. To file a suit, you have to submit to the court what is called in English statement, not application. Application is used for a certain request, just like طلب in Arabic. Please see the meaning of the word 'statement' as a legal term.
Note from asker:
Are you sure, Abdelrahman, because this is presented in writing. Also, doesn't this have anything to do with the other عريضة for which you suggested application?
