This seems to be a specific reference to a Mercedes-Benz Unimog vehicle - they translate the "Kugelpunkte" literally as "ball points".

A company called Fischbacher produces an adaptation of the Unimog they call the Kranimog. They use the term 'ball point mountings' which seems very clear to me (especially when you've seen the photos - the yellow one is from the Fischbacher site).
