Do I understand it right: the notice should be given 6 weeks before the end of any one quarter to take effect at the end of the next quarter (basically, 6 weeks + a quarter)? If that's the right interpretation of this term, is there a standard way to refer to it in English legalese?
TIA!

I understand it as the next quarter end and not the end of next quarter.

...notice period of 6 weeks to expire at the end of a calender quarter

the notice period must be at least six weeks but it cannot end in the middle of a calender quarter. That means if the end of the six weeks fall on, say, the 1st day of a new calender quarter termination of a contract cannot take effect before the end of that quarter, i.e. that poor person has to wait 6+12 weeks before termination of their contract.
