Spanish to English Other Education / Pedagogy Short text
Hi everyone! I'm translating the short text below without any more context. Drawing a blank on this initial phrase, my translations sound a bit clumsy. Thanks for your help!

Charles Davis Apr 22, 2014:
The "pruebas" probably refer to PISA, I would guess.
philgoddard Apr 21, 2014:
I think "Más allá de la atención que podamos prestar a" is probably a very roundabout way of saying something that can be expressed much more concisely in English - perhaps "in addition to", or "despite". However, it's hard to know which to choose, as it's not clear what these "pruebas" are.
Lindsay Spratt (asker) Apr 21, 2014:
Hi Phil, I don't have any more context unfortunately.
philgoddard Apr 21, 2014:
What does it say before this? What are the "pruebas" it refers to?

Beyond the significance that we can give to

I think substituting 'attention' with 'significance' works well here :)

Over and above the attention we could pay to

Or you could use "Beyond"...
Peer comment(s):

agree David Hollywood : Over and above the/any validity of etc. I like "over and above" ... "validity" implies "taking into account"

Beyond any notice we might take of the results

Another way of saying it which reflects the discussion that follows.
