So, can anyone tell me how to perform tag checking on a Trados file? I discovered the "Verify" option, but it doesn't tell me in which segments the tag errors occur (and double-clicking an error doesn't open it up).

trados tag errors

What is the shortcut or menu item for doing a tag check so that I can see where the tag errors are?

Found a workaround Aug 18

So, the workaround that I found is:

1. Click "Reports" in the left column and then click on the segment number of the first error.
2. This will open up a messages pane at the top of the document, and if you expand the pane you'll see segment numbers on the right.

There’s a click for that Aug 18

Just double click on the reported error to navigate to the segment in question. In many cases, after fixing the error it is removed from the report.

This didn't work for me. Double-clicking the error was the first thing I thought of, but it did nothing.

Your screenshot shows the segment in question (46)...

The screenshot in my second post shows what happens after I clicked "Reports" and then clicked on the first segment link. The screenshot in my first post shows what happens after I used "Verify", without clicking "Reports".

Ah, I got it Aug 18

You first screenshot is that of the Verify batch task results.

It is for information only.
If you want to open the Messages pane from your editor, just press F8 while in the editor. It will automatically bring you to the Messages pane. Or just click the Messages tab.... See more

XBench Sep 1

As much as I like Studio, I found XBench to be much more efficient for QA. With the large IT projects I often have, Studio struggles to generate the QA report, while XBench is almost instantaneous.

It does a really good job with number and tag errors.

Ctrl-E will jump to the segment for correction.
