Daniel Kalonji has been interested in translation since childhood. In high school, English was his best lesson and he almost always scored the best grades.
He still remembers with delight the first time he translated a text from English to French from the "English for Africa" school material.
He kept learning English while in High School and throughout University where he graduated in Agronomy as an Agro-Economic Engineer.
During this time, he continued practising translation and interpretation mostly as an amateur.
After graduating from the university, he decided to work as a freelance professional translator. He went in the Congo American Language Institute (Kinshasa, DRC) where he received a Certificate in Business English with high honours.
While he started in little beginnings, his dedication and willing to learn and become more professional have allowed him to experience promotion and success in the field and he has now become a reference among his peers and highly appreciated by his clients. He provides translation and interpretation services in national settings (Government, public and private companies, NGOs, ...) and also in international settings (Embassies, NGOs, the World Bank, USAID, Comesa...) and works as a conference interpreter (simultaneous translation) both in the country where he travels a great deal with foreign delegations in visit, and outside the country.
While he is based in Kinshasa, Congo (DRC), his work scope reaches far beyond his geographic zone, and his services are demanded by many clients around the globe (US, Latin America, UK, Singapore, India, South Africa...)
As a sworn translator, his services are also highly demanded by people in the process of required visas from Embassies in the city.
The combined factors of being an Agric Engineer, passionate reader, man of culture and his open-mindedness have enabled him to cover a wide range of fields, going from general culture to politics, humanitarian to legal, mining to environment, business to social, to name the few.
Daniel is ceaselessly improving his level and the services he provides. Quality, timekeeping, professionalism and trust are his drives. And he partners with other high-ranked professionals to bring added value to his services, among whom peer linguists, (business) lawyers, marketing specialists, technicians...
