My blog relates to translation but in a somewhat offbeat way. My audience is primarily customers and fellow translators, not so much in the way of how-to articles.
Enjoy. | |

| Other - I have a PLOG! | Sep 5, 2015 |
According to Wikipedia: A blog (a truncation of the expression weblog) is a discussion or informational site published on the World Wide Web and consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed in reverse chronological order (the most recent post appears first).
What I have is a Permanent log of articles containing (what I consider) relevant and useful information for translators and/or translation clients at http://www.lamensdorf.com.br/almost-a-blog.html . They are not sorted in any particular order, at least for the time being.
Though the software I use for building my web site, WebSiteX5 offers me the blogging feature, which I thought of using a few times, as it apparently draws more traffic than a static web site, I decided against doing it. When I have any update/improvement to these articles, I do it right there. | | | Yes, About Translation | Sep 5, 2015 |
Yes, I do: About Translation (www.Aboutranslation.com), a blog of "Information, news and opinion about professional translation" - it is now probably one of the oldest translation blogs around: 11 years, about 500 articles and 1.1 m pageviews.
But not about translation.

but I found out that, just like the social networks, people tend to look for blogs to criticize and put you down much more than to help and participate. I gave up my blog and I'm practically not using social networks. Humans use all their efforts to put one down and to criticize, but are very reluctant to make a compliment or to help. If you make a mistake, like a racist comment, it will be all over the world within 5 minutes, but if you win a prize and post it, nobody will hear about it. So blo... See more but I found out that, just like the social networks, people tend to look for blogs to criticize and put you down much more than to help and participate. So blogs became one more source for these negative people to look for things to destroy one another most of the time, and rarely ever for positive purposes. ▲ Collapse | | | Mario Chavez (X) Local time: 22:32 English to Spanish + ...
Been a while, Triston.
I've been thinking of creating a channel to post desktop publishing how-to videos for translators and customers on my YouTube account.
I'm using Snagit 11 to capture videos, but I have yet to create a how-to video. What could go wrong?

Just watch some of my early videos... or my more recent videos
I use OBS to record. It's free, but the quality isn't quite where I want it to be. Now that I'm actually making money from it, I'm going to invest in some better equipment/software. I really enjoy it. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: Do you have a blog?
