I suppose you could say that my homework set up is as "ideal" as I can get it without breaking sweat. I have my main PC in one corner of the open plan living room/kitchen and my backup PC in the spare room, which doubles as my music centre with the radio on in the background. I also have my laptop to go and another old PC which are currently only use for the TV in the bedroom.
Agree (ideal for me) | Mar 25, 2020 |
I have a very calm and quiet office with everything I need to work, though it’s a very small space. My apartment has a nice veranda at the front and sometimes I take my laptop and work there…

I had been working in an office (coworking solution) for three years but since my colleague went away last year I was practically alone. So I used to work some days in the office and some days at home.
In the last weeks I was naturally forced to work from home due to the Italian health measures taken by the Government. Moreover I have to leave my office by the end of next April (the owners need the whole space) and I have collected almost everything to bring my stuff at home.

Well, the result is a work space full of things (PCs, sheets sheets and sheets, a desk full of everything needed and not needed) but I feel confortable, yes. Apart from the fact that there is very little work now (off topic).

It's perfect.
Own office with all I need, enough space - cannot complain.

I have a small space, and it is equipped with seemingly random furniture finds but it works well for me. In fact I am supremely comfortable as I work and rarely suffer from work-related RSI. The only thing I would change is to add a window with a view. I have two skylights but just a bit of a neighbouring roof is visible out of one from where I sit to work. But then it is good to have an excuse to get up and move about, to go and look out of the window now and again!

I have a great setup, with good equipment and comfort.
But there are two essential factors I have not sorted out yet: (1) I need an air conditioner; (2) I must move to a place where I can replace a noisy avenue with a garden or something less noisy at least. Then it will be perfect.

I have an office, but... | Mar 25, 2020 |
It's a dump for everything we don't have a room for. And asking me to clean it is like asking me to climb the Everest wearing slippers.

It's in a niche between my bedroom and my living room. The comfy spot on the left is usually occupied by my cat. Living room on the right (giant windows, view of trees, sky, etc. Shredder under the table.

A moveable home, a portable work setup | Mar 25, 2020 |
- Laptop (with a keyboard-friendly GNU/Linux setup)
- Stood wooden laptop stand (I don't need an external keyboard) http://stood.it/
- Wireless mouse with a USB rechargeable AA battery
- Travel adapter
- Earplugs (and wired in-ear headphones)
That's my minimal portable setup.
I've taken to working while standing up, so ultimately, I don't even need a chair.

I've taken to working while standing up, so ultimately, I don't even need a chair.
Just some kind of horizontal surface of a certain height.
Obviously, I can still work while sitting, but a makeshift standing desk can be made out of a cardboard box and a few copy paper packs.
An ideal setup would be ideal, but enough is… enough.

OK, for sheer comfort, two external displays and an electric height adjustable desk when home.

In need of decoration | Mar 25, 2020 |
It's a spare bedroom, used partly for storing boxes of stuff, with a corner for my desk and chair. I think I've got everything I need, apart from some work...

I managed to get a snap of the only tidy bit of the room, cleverly missing out the dusty boxes, etc. Yes, if you zoom in on my keyboard, it's pretty grimy. Must clean that.
Has your cat got the day off?

My work setup is ideal with everything I need, including decorative pieces that are set up to never get in the way. And the view from my desk is simply priceless, nothing but sky and trees.

Other because I've a private office outside my home (in another town), even if I don't have employees.
In my office I have a very good set up.
Now, due to the situation with Covid, I'm working from home and my set up is not ideal (for example I don't have any additional screen )
