If by this is meant how things are grouped together in my mind, I tend to categorize mentally my work by client, with one exception because this particular client deals with several EC departments and agencies (EACEA, ENV, EPSO, DEVCO, HOME, JRC, JUST, RTD, TAXUD…). | | | Thayenga Germany Local time: 14:46 Member (2009) English to German + ...

All three options, plus by area/subject, size and deadline. | | |
But if working for more than one client at a time, I tend to devote more time to the one whose needs are more pressing, until I'm done with his or her project.
After that, I feel a sense of relief when I can use all of my time for the one that still remains.
Anyway, my most loyal clients have always allowed me to take as much time as I need to, within reason, of course.

I never thought of it before, but each client comes with a different set of conditions: rates, ease of communication, type of text, speed of payment, etc. I subconsciously put more of my heart into work for those that score high in these areas. If I talk about my work, I will tend to say "I have a job from X" rather than "I have a job on such-and-such a topic" or "I have a job that pays well/poorly"
