typical translator Aug 29, 2005

Oh, I've been waiting for this topic to come up

According to one of my friends, the typical translator lives on coffee and cigarettes. Coffee-drinking and chain-smoking equal to "translator" in his definition. Well, it fits for me: I can't work without either one. How about you?

my choice is coffee + cigarettes... couldn't choose both
decided on cigarettes because I can do without coffee if I have to

What, no tea? Aug 29, 2005

In true British style, I am constantly drinking tea at my desk. I think if I drank coffee in the same way I would be climbing the walls

Chips, peanuts, nachos, pistachios, etc. Aug 29, 2005

With a X-cola drink.

But most of the time, zero food.

British Breakfast Tea... Aug 29, 2005

It tastes really good. But I am wondering if it's as refreshing as Chinese green tea...Maybe it is.

Can't answer the question, since you can only choose one answer Aug 30, 2005

At least "all of the above" should be a choice!

beer, wine (white & red), whiskey or why not a longdrink in order to cope with a tough translation And some people might prefer to smoke other stuff than tobacco

Another poll from the department "not very necessary polls".

Regards
Erik

Cigarettes ?? Aug 30, 2005

I find it surprising how many people appear to eat or drink cigarettes at work !!

They have become so expensive that I can no longer affird to eat or drink them so I just smoke them from time to time while drinking my coffee

Tea and chocolate... Aug 30, 2005

Exactly, I really missed the option "tea" - I never have acquired a taste for coffee.

As an emergency solution I chose "chips/snacks" because chocolate comes a close second...
