"Average" and "right now" is a difficult combo.

Output? Sep 18

The question is ambiguous. "Daily output" could mean either theoretical productivity or the actual workload.

That's talking about completely new and difficult material requiring extensive research with zero TM results. If all these are the case, no tech will help me increase the speed, but it can skyrocket if I've already dealt with the subject-matter and have translation ideas and TM results for it. I can't even guess how much I can do in a day when backed by prior work. The number above relates to my full-time schedule, i. e. working 9 hours a day. As a freelancer, I used to do more, but then sometimes I'd go on 50 hour-long marathons with only 2–3 hours of break time

Output vs Input Sep 18

My daily output is not so high, but as for the input... I'm a very talkative person Is there anyone here to pay me for the input?

You mean our daily workload?
Or our translation productivity?

At the agency I averaged 3,800 new words a day, working 9 to 5.30, but I slacked off quite a bit.

My record was something like 12,000 words, but I had already translated a very similar text, the PM just hadn't given me a CAT file so I was copying and replacing all over.

Nowadays I won't accept more than 3000 words a day, most PMs seem to operate on a basis of no more than 2,500, which is probably my average. I work on much more complex texts nowadays, involving more re

Nowadays I won't accept more than 3000 words a day, most PMs seem to operate on a basis of no more than 2,500, which is probably my average. I work on much more complex texts nowadays, involving more rewriting, so I don't think I'm as productive, but I enjoy it far more and mostly earn more, and I'm pretty sure I don't put in more hours. I start earlier and finish later, but my working day is interspersed with visits to the dog park, shopping and even swimming, not to mention frequent breaks like right now.
