A tradução técnica para iniciantes

O presente trabalho traz uma breve apresentação de alguns dos aspectos conceituais e práticos
da profissão de tradução. Os objetivos gerais e específicos se consubstanciam na apresentação
dos temas introdutórios e basilares para a profissão, pontuando as diferenças e similaridades
entre as atividades de tradução e a de interpretação. Há também a apresentação das CAT Tools,
e a menção de outras ferramentas e softwares que servem como apoio para as tarefas de
tradução, bem como de algumas noções administrativas e de negócios para o efetivo exercício
profissional, particularmente, no que concerne à cobrança por serviços prestados. A
metodologia aqui empregada foi a da pesquisa em fontes bibliográficas primárias, ou seja, em
livros e artigos produzidos por estudiosos desse campo do conhecimento. Não obstante, outras
fontes subsidiarias foram utilizadas, o que possibilitou a extração de algumas informações
relevantes de uma entrevista com duas professoras da PUC-SP,são elas a Professora Dra. Alzira
Leite Vieira Allegro, e a Professora Dra. Luciana Carvalho Fonseca. A entrevista foi concedida
à TV-PUC, em 2014, no programa Desafio Profissão apresentado pelo orientador profissional
Silvio Block. Esse estudo evidencia a eficácia de métodos que alinham a teoria à prática, e que
estas são interdependentes e necessárias à formação profissional
