This session will provide information and terminology at an INTERMEDIATE level used in business and finance. It is suitable for translators and interpreters who plan to work or are already working in the field and who want to expand their vocabulary and understanding of commonly used concepts.
(The session is language-neutral delivered in English but appropriate for any language pair.)
Description
This 90 minute session covers hundreds of terms at an intermediate --manager level-- as used in business and finance in relation to trade, the business and corporate world, marketing and related fields. It describes (in English) concepts used in the U.S. and the U.K as well as many other countries around the world, presenting a systematic approach to word building and term comprehension.
This is a fast-pace, intense, session with an upbeat and lively mood, that requires full engagement on the part of the participant in terms of ACTIVE listening, individual thinking and processing of information, as well as hands-on note-taking and interactive activities. HANDS-ON exercises will also be suggested to be completed AFTER the session.
This is one more session that forms part of the bundles focusing on the progressive acquisition of skills in terminology used in finance and business, healthcare and medicine, and legal settings a, and tips on how to build better glossaries.

Recommendations

Very good webinar, very clear, not many participated, was glad someone asked for an explanation of a term as people seem to be terrified of asking when they do not understand. Ms. Bauer was very well prepared, had organised her session well, no breaks, so no waste of time, though session could not possibly be longer. Voice and speech very clear. Well done.

I was unable to attend the webinar and so had to watch it later as a video on Proz. I would have liked to see the trainer actually talking in the video rather than just static slides, which were very boring to look at."
