Description
This workshop is designed for basic SDL Trados Studio 2014 users. Participants will learn all main new basic tricks and features in order to be able to completely exploit the software and learn how to deal with most common file formats. You will learn how to build your own TMs or import TMs you receive from an agency, both in SDLTM and TMX format. You will also learn how to build and manage a Glossary (usually called Terminology List) with SDL Multiterm. See the program section below for a complete detail of the topics to be covered during the session.
Prepare your questions before the class! There will be opportunity for live Q&A and discussion of software features during the workshop.
The main points to be discussed on the training:
How to translate complex and uncommon file format with SDL Trados Studio 2011
How to use the new TrackChanges function
How to export your sdlxliff document into a Word-document and have it proofread by someone else
How to import your Teminologies from Excel or Word files into your Multiterm software.
How to convert TMs formats
How to manage a Package received by an Agency
Target audience
This course is addressed to professional translators who wish to start using SDL Trados Studio 2014 and want to learn all new tricks and tips in order to improve and increase their own translation daily productivity.

You will learn how to use the software from the very scratch and how to use it in your daily translation priductivity.

Bio: Paolo Sebastiani is an English-Italian, French-Italian and German-Italian Professional Translator with over 20 years of experience in Italy and abroad. He obtained his first University degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Urbino in 1991 and his second University degree in Political Studies, at the same University in the year 2000. He founded his Translation Agency, Eurolingua, in 1994 and since then has been working as translator, interpreter and Cat-Tool official Trainer. He has organized many in-person training courses about Wordfast, SDL Trados and Atril Dejavu in different Italian towns and as a ProZ.com Professional Trainer, has run many Wordfast-PRO, Wordfast-Classic and Wordfast-Anywhere training sessions for progressive knowledge acquisition with excellent feedbacks.

Hi, Paolo! I am highly interested in getting started with my newly acquired and installed Trados Studio Freelance 2014. The thing is I only have the software but no clue of how to run it from scratch. I have used ATRIL Deja Vu with certain dexterity, so I suppose this must not be that different. The reason I ask is because, I tend to associate learning 'new tricks' once you already master certain level of command Is it required to have certain prior command of the software in order to ...
