Cannot click links in e-mails Thread poster: Gayle Wallimann

(reposted here, instead of Windows specific forum)
I have a brand new laptop that has XP Family pack on it, using Outlook Express 6 for my mail. My problem is that I cannot click on links included in mail to directly access web pages like I used to with Windows 98 and Outlook 5. I suppose there is something that needs to be activated or a security problem. Thanks for any suggestions, I'm tired of copying and pasting links to get into ProZ.com etc.

Gayle,
go to Tools->Options and select the Read tab.
Is the 4th checkbox selected? ("Read all messages in plain text").
If yes, uncheck it. I think the change will not apply to already downloaded messages but only to new ones).

I did what you said, and the box is not checked. So that is not the problem. I'm trying to find an answer on MS help websites as well. Thanks for your time in answering my call for help. Actually, the links look normal, they are blue, I can click them but they take me nowhere.

Gayle,
Sorry for French...
Quel navigateur utilises-tu ? Si ce n'est pas l'Internet Explorer, ce genre de problèmes arrive sous Windows 2000.
Et j'avais le même genre de problèmes sous XP après avoir essayé un autre navigateur.
En choisissant IE par défaut, le problème devrait disparaître.

Thank you so very much. It was as simple as that. I thought that IE was my browser by default, but I guess it wasn't.
Merci beaucoup!

What browser are you using? If it isn't Internet Explorer, this kind of problem often occurs with Windows 2000.
I had the same kind of problem with XP when I tried another browser.
When you select IE by default, the problem should be solved."
It worked for me. Hope it works for others also.

PS Ines, Sorry not to have translated this earlier. I became busy and forgot to get back to this. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Cannot click links in e-mails Protemos translation business management system |
