I really like it. It seems that all the nice and catchy names are taken...
Thanks for all the suggestions!

Velvet Words Jun 26, 2015

If Silk Words is already taken, why not try something like Velvet Word Translations or Velvet Voice?

In style ? Jun 26, 2015

Since you want the name to create a mental link to fashion for potential clients, why not something with the word "style" in it ?

- In Style Translation
- Stylish Words Translation
- Words-in-Style
- etc.

Just a suggestion.
Good luck !
Jeff

PS: Just so you'll know, I did not do a web search on any of those names, so they may all be taken as far as I know!

What exactly are the rules? Jun 26, 2015

Before you dismiss all these possibilities - some of which do seem very good - I'd advise you to check what you're actually not allowed to have. I've done many searches for company names (in the company registers of France and the UK, for example), and I constantly find that I'm faced with a list of identical and near-identical names. It happens here on ProZ.com, too, in searches by name on the Blue Board. So I don't think the fact that there's a company somewhere in the world with that name is necessarily a stopper. I'm pretty sure that the other company has to be very close in terms of locality and/or business area for there to be any problem at all, unless it's a major company that has procured all sorts of special legal rights to the name. I think it's worth checking anyway.

Custom-Fit / Tailor-Fit Jun 26, 2015

It depends on how "cute" you want to go with the idea, but it could be something like :

Custom-Fit translations
(Our translations are anything but "off-the-rack" because "one size does not fit all" !)

or
Tailor-Fit translations
(Our translations are "tailored" to fit your needs, because one size definitely does not fit all!)

I like Tailor-Fit Translations as well, but would not go for Velvet Voice Jun 29, 2015

I love the Tailor-Fit Translations as well, witty but not toooo abstract/romantic.

I would however definitely not go for Velvet Voice, because for some reason this reminds me of a company providing telephone sex... (You know, this woman on the other side of the line, trying to come up with her most sexy voice ever,...)
I don't think that's what you aim at.
The same reason applies to why I would not choose Soft Words either (although that already reminds me less of such

Final decision Feb 29, 2016

Hi all,

After much deliberation I finally narrowed it down to 2 options:

1. Translation Loom
2. Catchprase Agency

Which one do you like better and why?
