The cause for embarrassment lies in the fact that Police Scotland, a public body with a multi-million pound budget, used the free and notoriously unreliable Google Translate tool to translate its website, rather than paying for the services of professional human translators. I am sure there are many skilled English to Gaelic translators out there who would be happy to take on the task for a fee.
