Discussion

Anastasia Novoselova Nov 15, 2006:
Just a couple of weeks ago there was a question about the title "доигрались" for an article. The chosen translation was "Game over" which might suit here, too.

Toy Shops: Playing a Loosing Game

Toy Shops: Foul Play - Lost Game
Peer comment(s):

agree Anastasia Novoselova : I like this one even better. Maybe "Game Lost"

I just wanted the word "play [with toys]" to be there, together with "game". Thank you
neutral KPATEP (X) : game is over

Toy shops: No More Playing

Мой вариант. Мне кажется, имеет смысл "поиграть" с "play / playing, etc.", поскольку именно этот глагол используется с сущ-ным "toy". :)

"shops" следует написать с большой буквы ;)

Toy stores: game over

American English would prefer Toy Stores over Toy Shops I think. Also can make a play on words using something like "foul play" - because of violations, etc.
Peer comment(s):

agree Anna Dundiy (X) : I would go with your last suggestion: Toy Stores Foul Play

Thanks Anna!
neutral Nik-On/Off : Great suggestins, Elina! But didn't you see that both "game over" and "foul play" have already been proposed

My answer was to emphasize "stores" instead of "shops" as an American English option, as I indeed saw the "game over" piece. Thanks for pointing out though, I guess.
