Rest in peace daddy
You have been gone for almost a year
And the pain is still here
You where not my real dad
But I cared for you as if you where
And now that it is about to be a year
The times are sad
The tears are flowing
And my heart is dying with every tear
On her face and on his
Both of them try to hide it
And yet I they confide in
They are my family now
And I care for them
We miss and love you so much
I hope you know
I am here for her and him
As the same they are for I
Rest in peace daddy
So we can fall asleep
With tears in our eyes
And love in our heart
You left us even though we where not ready for you to go
Well will never forget you
I hope you are watching over us
We will still together like you stuck with us
So Ricky my adopted father
As a year come and goes all I want you to know
We will never let you go

Depending on the tone and period of the original poem or literature, it maybe appropriate to use 爹 as opposed to 爸爸 (contemporary), 父亲 (formal), 阿爸 (certain dialect)
