PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AS TRANSLATOR

Full-time freelance translator since 2003 working mainly for translation agencies from more than 10 different countries.

Business, marketing, luxury market, legal documents, literature, human resources, medical, culinary, ecology, quality system documentation, linguistics, education.

TRANSLATION PROFESSIONAL EVENTS

Since 2010, I have been regularly organizing/presenting talks/webinars/workshops about translation and the internet market, and other subjects related to the translation industry (in translation conferences in Brazil and abroad, universities, and internet translation groups).

OTHER ACTIVITIES IN THE TRANSLATION INDUSTRY

Mentor: at APTRAD, ProZ, and providing both voluntary and paid private mentorship.

Conference/Events Organizer: I organized the 1st ProZ conference in Brazil (August 2009), the VI ProZ.com Brazilian Conference (September 2016), and the 1st APTRAD conference in Brazil (2019, 1º Congresso da APTRAD Brasil 2019), among other events. I was a speaker at the 2nd (August 2010) and 3rd (November 2011) ProZ Brazilian Conferences.

Volunteering: I founded and manage a group at Facebook for beginner translators called "Tradutores Iniciantes com Medo de Perguntar" ("Beginner Translators Afraid to Ask Questions") for those who are a little lost when starting their professional life and don't feel comfortable participating in other translation groups.

PREVIOUS PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

More than 10 years working as Administrative Manager with several different responsibilities:

Creation and implantation of administrative routines and
workflows for better use of all internal resources; analysis, coordination, and implantation of a Quality System, elaboration, and application of staff training in the
administrative and telemarketing areas. Responsibility for all administrative/financial
routine at small/medium companies, including paying/receiving bills, cash-flow,
financial forecasts, management reports, accounting supervising, human resource
routines, archives, maintenance in general, and contracts with suppliers. Implantation
and coordination of changes as well as administrative/operational proceedings. Administrative and financial consultancy for private companies and Non-Profit Organizations (both professionally and on a volunteer basis). Translations and adaptations from French, English, and Spanish usually related to Quality System documents of all departments within a manufacturing organization. Training in France for the ISO 9000 in 2000 (Groupe Moulinex).
