Yes, many times Jan 4, 2022

I also had a few cases where agencies sent me a project some years later…

Maybe 10 times. And some of them still send me Christmas greetings.; so I know I'm on their databases - pointlessly.

Yes,yes Jan 5, 2022

I think I signed lots of NDA, but any several companies frequently send me projects.

No Jan 5, 2022

I wouldn’t get to that stage unless they had a specific job they wanted me to do.

Yes. It's a normal part of doing business online. New translators should do their best to impress such clients but should not get their hopes up. I have often suspected that getting new translators signed up (with no prospect of work) is a task given to new project managers to help them get a feel for the business. Essentially, we help train them by responding to their queries as if we take it seriously... because every once in a while, there truly is a job waiting there.

Signed contract with no jobs Jan 6, 2022

This is a typical part of the onboarding process. Agencies will often do this just to "pad" their translator list. "Gee, we have 10,000 translators on our books" (but they might use maybe only several hundred). Potyomkim village. The more laborious the onboarding process, the less likelihood of any jobs. Nowadays I refuse to do any onboarding. It has made my life a lot easier.
