Personally, I haven't really seen any compelling improvements since as far back as Studio 2014. They did introduce the SDL/RWS Cloud at some point, but I am not using that. Other than that, its atrocious memory management (I mean RAM, not its translation memory) appears to stay forever. So I basically only upgrade Trados when my current version reaches its end of support OR if there is a REALLY compelling upgrade offer (mostly through ProZ). 2021 is still being supported, so why upgrade?
I’m not a Trados user. In fact, I’m not a CAT user…

I don't think they have released Trados Studio 2023. Studio 2022 should be the latest version.

I just checked their website; the latest release as of today is Studio 2022 SR2. It's interesting to see that some respondents seem to be using Studio 2023.

But, at least on my PC, it seems to be full of bugs after the last sw upgrades.

I have bought several versions of Studio, but only use Studio when the client requires me to do so, I think the latest is 2017, and it is installed on my laptop.
For the most part of my work, on my desktop computer, I use the oldest version SDL 2007. The best, simplest, clearest CAT Tool I have ever used.

And I've been working with Trados Studio since 2008.

Now, this is extremely interesting. We "worked" with Trados 2007/Translator's Workbench when I was studying, and I found it so extremely ugly and clunky that it deterred me from using CAT tools until I scored my first job at a translation company and saw Across and Studio 2009 in action.
(Also, to be fair, I wouldn't even dream of touching Across nowadays. They actually managed to make the tool considerably worse with each version.)

...and I think I'll stop here. Every new version retains the older bugs, plus some unnecessary complications.

It's time to upgrade, I guess, but I hope to be able to wait until I buy a new desktop computer. My current one is about 6 years old, but still works as a charm, handling even the most heavy files.
On a side note I've never understood all the complaints about bugs. Besides the very rare crash (and even then only when handling very heavy files) I've never had any substantial problems with Trados, that I'm using since the year 2000.
The last update was first time I have considered not updating. I don´t use the cloud or AI - I market myself on real human translation. There is not much left to improve in the current interface in Studio 2022, so we are back to ´If it ain´t broke, don´t fix it!´

The first version of Studio had some bugs - among other things it was not always possible to override false errors, and then it would not produce a target file. It was released in a hurry in response to the new rival, MemoQ, which appeared about then.
I started with WorkBench 3.1 (I think) . My in-house employer at the time insisted! It was before Workbench 5, which was much more stable. As a freelancer I was so relieved to get rid of TagEditor, I even liked Studio 2009! But a kind service engineer installed 2011 for me as the best way to solve an issue, and I have never looked back, with very few bugs over more than 20 years.
Nothing would persuade me to go back to Workbench 7, although I definitely thought it was the best back then. Just not being able to merge or split segments would drive me mad - I used to fiddle about in the source file for hours to get round it until the merge segments feature came with Studio 2014. ▲ Collapse

When men's fashion brand Hugo Boss started putting out feelers to see if anyone would be interested in HB for women, they were surprised to see that a lot of people answered "I already buy stuff from their women's range". Now that's really is keeping ahead of the latest trends!
Other than that, a lot of people don't remember which version of anything they have - except those who take pride in always having the latest of everything. Probably a lot of people answered 2023 thinking it can't have been more than a year since they got their update.
I only know I got it in 2019, because I remember buying it to do work for an agency which then gave me very little work because of the pandemic kicking in months later. I really felt that I'd wasted my money.
But 2007 still installed, I could not live without trados
I am a trados user since 2004

I do want to upgrade to 2022, but I will wait a while until it is back on offer. They are trying to move and make their subscriptions like Across does, but I am not sure if that is a good thing.
