I am doing about the same amount, but I am refusing a lot. I don't keep track of the amount I refuse.
Difficult to tell
Like Japan's constantly changing weather, volume ebbs and flows all the time. Such is life. Sigh...
The last two months were just plain miserable; however, I am negotiating two projects that will both begin - touch wood - hopefully this month with the advent of the rainy season and last till around November.
Less (fortunately...) until now! | Jun 3, 2016 |
Last year was an exceptional one: the best ever in over 30 years! So, if I compare to last year, which was extremely busy with no weekends for months and long hours every day, it has been less busy. This means that this year I have dropped back to normal… Fortunately because I couldn’t keep up with that rhythm of work!

Probably. Am usually too busy working to bother about things like this. Scarcity of work only really becomes notable to me if nothing comes into my inbox for more than three days in a row... And even then I've usually still got something in hand waiting to be done... For example, I've got a 4000 translation with virtually no deadline that I can fall back on if I manage to get everything else done...

I could actually be doing with a short dry period, so that I could go and get my car inspected, visit the dentist... go to the beach... or whatever. ▲ Collapse

No idea.
(Fortunately) I am busy, but when I have some time I spend it with my family other than comparing things with the past, I leave that to my accountant.
"About the same"= No, I'm not getting more work. Yes, I'm getting about the same amount, only slightly just one the higher side. Errr, I don't know, I have to ask my manager.
Are you getting more work?

2013-2015 were over the top; I went for months without any breaks. This year is more like normal. Also, *three* of my clients retired. At first I couldn't understand why I wasn't hearing from them. It has been an adjustment. I had gotten used to the income, but I couldn't have kept up the pace. So far this year I have acquired two nice new clients, both of them willing to pay my rate.

I like Etienne's answers. If we were in the dentistry business, the question could go like this:
Are you pulling more teeth this year than the previous one?
1) Yes
2) No
3) I don't know
4) Life is too short to count 'em

There seems to be a trend of reduction worldwide. So far, I haven't felt it, but many people are mentioning it. And I have actually had more "idle" days this year than usual. I hope it doesn't happen, but we better be prepared for the worst.

Last year was very bad, this year is even worse.
Hard to tell, but 2015 was more productive than most or even all previous years in terms of cash, dunno about wordcount. 2016 is possibly going to come close.
