We now have some further details about the barbecue on July 23rd.

Julian and I have recruited some regular Powwow attendees - Matt Beeston, Marion Lurf and Eleonore Wapler - to form "Team BBQ". We are in charge of ensuring that the event runs smoothly and providing some basic supplies.

Please meet us on Bruntsfield Links (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruntsfield_Links) at 3 pm on Saturday 23rd July. As we won't know exactly which part of the Links we will be on until the day, we will mark our territory with a flag (a Lion Rampant), so you should be able to spot us!

As I said, we will provide some basic supplies (bread rolls, condiments, paper plates, the BBQ, etc.), but please bring the following:

• Any meat or other food you want to cook on the BBQ


• A picnic blanket, if you have one


• Whatever you would like to drink


• Any signature dishes (salads, puddings, cakes) you would like to share with the group


• Snacks to keep us going until the food is cooked


• Any park games you might have - frisbees, rounders bats, twister!

As with any barbecue in Scotland, we need a wet weather alternative. If it is raining we will move to Julian's house, which is nearby. I will post an update on here at around midday on the 23rd with our executive decision about whether or not we will be outside.

If you plan to bring food to share with the group, please let me know in advance so that I can make sure we don't have 20 of the same thing.

UPDATE YOUR ATTENDANCE on this page so that we know who is coming. You can do this by clicking on the arrows in the "Will attend" column. I will then send Julian's address to everyone who plans to come.

LET ME KNOW WHAT FOOD YOU PLAN TO BRING, if any, so I can make sure there isn't too much of the same thing.
