I've been in the US for most part (80 to 90%) of the last 15 years and recently settled, temporarily, in B...razil for Grad. School where I research about Legal Translation from English to Portuguese. Besides Legal English, I also research, publish and deliver lectures about Virtual Ed., Business English, Rhetoric and Argumentation, Law and Mediation (b.t.w., it is mandatory for government Grants' awardees to publish articles, to deliver lectures, to teach, etc.). Although I have 6+ years experience with translations, my professional transl...ation career started in 2014 when I decided to take a certificate on English to Portuguese translation at Estácio de Sá University. When I first began, my main areas of specialization on translation were science and literature.
Two years later I became a full member of ProZ. As a freelancer my job is currently focused on translating technical electronics hanbook, literary contents from all sorts, legal documents, financial, such as constituent documents, letters of attorney, manuals, contracts, agreements, equipment descriptions, balance sheets, etc.
In 2015 I was offered to become a volunteer translator of the OTP TED project. That allowed me to acquire a deep knowledge of translation subtitling, other than that I grew up a lot as a translator working with other professionals in the same team.
In 2016, I started to invest on the I.T. field as I am taking a secong degree on a Computer Analyses and System Development technology course.
